It is useful to review your year before a new year starts. We have had the winter solstice so the days will start to get longer again. This is a positive. We have to look for small victories and positive things to focus on. What we can be grateful for?! Reviewing your year and making a note of what good things happened and where you grew in a positive way. Write these things down and affirm yourself. The world is still coming out of a pandemic so it will take some time to get back to normal. Because I am a naturopathic doctor I am focused on optimizing my health and the health of all my patients. What did you do for your health this past year that was a positive? Before we start the new year, reflect on the good things you did for your health this past year. Maybe you consistently ate more vegetables; maybe you ate more plants and less meat. Maybe you ate less sugar and limited dairy and gluten because you know they upset your system. Focus on what was positive about your health care last year. Be proud of the fact that you exercised consistently last year. How can you improve your health moving forward? I know I need to do more regular yoga and weights. My partner got me 5 pound barbells for me which are a little easier than the 10 pound barbells I have. My plan is to be more consistent with doing weights in my condo. I walk to work and back approximately 4 days a week for about 25 minutes each way. I exercise every day for at least 30 minutes to ensure that I sleep well. I meditate for at least 20 minutes a day. This helps me stay calm and assuages my anxiety. I choose to intermittently fast over night for twelve hours to give my glympathic system time to do its job overnight. The glympathic system cleans out your system overnight and keeps your whole body running smoothly. I am proud of what I have done this year in my commitment to my business. I want to improve my patient numbers this year and so I will reflect on what I have done well this year with an eye on what I can improve on in this next year. I need to drink more water.
